Bienvenidos A Nuestra Casita
Welcome to our little house by the beach on the central coast of Ecuador. We fell in love with the country a few years ago and the love affair continues. Coming to Ecuador for vacations was one thing, the decision to move hear permanently, quite another. Let me tell you a little about us and that decision…
First, my husband and I are both retired. I have been retired for about 20 years now (retired really early) and my husband retired last year. We are both prior service, having spent 20 and 30 something years respectively in the Air Force.
That being said, you can imagine the traveling we have done and lives we have led. Living in Korea, Holland, Spain, and all over the United States gives one quite the life foundation and some unbelievable memories. Being retired caused Ed, the man with the soul of a gypsy, to wonder if there were any adventures left. While sitting on our front porch one day, talking about our future, Ed, my husband, suggested we look for another home, in a warmer climate. (In other words, “Next Adventure on the radar!”) And me, being the enabler that I am, responded in a resigned voice with a “Whatever you want dear.” Next thing I new, we were not only taking vacations, but looking for a new place to call home.
Last December, we visited Casa WF (now Casita Las Mareas), owned and operated by Marty Williams and Jim Franks. During our visit, the property just about fell into our laps. Now, six months later, we
are living in a house, where the river meets the sea. Our youngest daughter made the trip with us to manage the property. After all, we are retired! Right?
The three of us cannot wait to host you in our home. We will treat you to breakfast every morning, drinks by the pool of an evening, and walks on the beach in between. So please join us for a small bit of time in paradise at Casita Las Mareas.
